About Smorgasbord - Variety is the Spice of Life.

My name is Sally Cronin and I am doing what I love.. Writing. Books, short stories, Haiku and blog posts. My previous jobs are only relevant in as much as they have gifted me with a wonderful filing cabinet of memories and experiences which are very useful when putting pen to paper. I move between non-fiction health books and posts and fairy stories, romance and humour. I love variety which is why I called my blog Smorgasbord Invitation and you will find a wide range of subjects. You can find the whole story here. 1. Posted the lot of them on my Pinterest Sal. PS I know I’ve been scarce, but I’ve had a horrendous week of technical horrors. Still can’t post on some blogs and I see my comments are going to moderation here. Check me in spam! WP has been the least of my woes, ya, it’s that bad. ❤ xo

  2. Wow, what an enterprise. The haiku is a really difficult form to get right as it is so stripped and so concentrated. I think two of yours have really captured the form particularly well: The fox one because the last line is like a hairpin bend coming back to see the scene from a new direction. The lilac one has a similar effect, you are drawn to the plant description and suddenly, as with the ‘mother and son’ of the fox poem, the universal theme of the immigrant dropped into our laps with a fresh light thrown upon it. Great, thanks.
