Smorgasbord Weekly Roundup – A look back at 2016 and a look forward to 2017.

i-will-always-love-you

First I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, and for me after the massively positive changes of 2016, it is a time to reflect on how I can build on that to keep the momentum going. I cannot imagine my life without the blog… it has brought treasures in the form of friendship, creative motivation and a feeling that I am doing something that I can do for the rest of my life.

My lovely friend Tina Frisco asked me to put together a brief summary of what is going to be happening on the blog in the coming year….https://tinafrisco.com/2016/12/31/spotlight-on-blog-visions-for-2017-new-years-delight/

In 2017 there will be a few changes to Smorgasbord Invitation.

I want to build on the author promotion platform I have developed over the last three years and will centre it around Sally’s Cafe and Bookstore. I will simplify the promotions so there are only two. The first will be for the 120 authors already in the Cafe. When they release a new book or enjoy a great review for a recent book, they will be assured a place to announce and showcase. The second will be for authors who are not already in the Cafe and are new to the blog. They will go into the seasonal reading post, following which their books will be posted to the café. I will continue Café updates and seasonal reading posts throughout each week.

New collaborators will be introduced to the blog. Beginning January 2017, author Paul Andruss will provide an article on a variety of subjects every fourth Thursday.

William Price King will continue to contribute a weekly musical series featuring some of our most iconic artists.. following on from the classical music series we will be moving into the world of ‘pop’.

I will continue with the weekly author interview and my own health posts, which are very important to me; and there will still be humour and videos, as I cannot imagine the blog without them. I will change to a bloggers review three times a week instead of many reblogs each day. And I will also get back to writing. The R’s of Life, the book I am writing via the blog, has just four chapters to go. That will be followed by another short story collection. On the side, I will be finishing three other books for release over the year.

The one thing that is very important to me is that Smorgasbord retains its variety… the spice of life and welcomes creative people who would like to share the platform.

Tomorrow I will be posting the first of the 2017 promotions and the first post in the 2017 weight reduction series. Eating good food and losing unnecessary weight in a healthy way.

This last week I focused on sharing the top viewed posts in a number of categories and also adding a little personal ‘stuff’.  If you missed any… here they are.

About Smorgasbord - Variety is the Spice of Life.

My name is Sally Cronin and I am doing what I love.. Writing. Books, short stories, Haiku and blog posts. My previous jobs are only relevant in as much as they have gifted me with a wonderful filing cabinet of memories and experiences which are very useful when putting pen to paper. I move between non-fiction health books and posts and fairy stories, romance and humour. I love variety which is why I called my blog Smorgasbord Invitation and you will find a wide range of subjects. You can find the whole story here.
