Let’s Walk a Marathon – Internal Fitness Programme – Preparation Day – Plan, Clothing, Fluids, Stretching.

Welcome to day one of our challenge to walk a marathon. Here is the link to the post on Friday, showing you why it is important to get fitter for the health of your internal organs instead of getting into a bikini this summer (or speedos for you guys).https://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/2017/04/21/lets-walk-a-marathon-the-internal-fitness-programme-coming-next-week/The aim is quite simple. To get fit and to lose weight if needed. The reason that I chose the marathon as a measurement, is that it is a recognised gold standard for many athletes. Whilst they may complete their marathons in under three hours, with a record of 2hours 2 minutes, that is not our intention. Well not for the first marathon anyway.

About Smorgasbord - Variety is the Spice of Life.

My name is Sally Cronin and I am doing what I love.. Writing. Books, short stories, Haiku and blog posts. My previous jobs are only relevant in as much as they have gifted me with a wonderful filing cabinet of memories and experiences which are very useful when putting pen to paper. I move between non-fiction health books and posts and fairy stories, romance and humour. I love variety which is why I called my blog Smorgasbord Invitation and you will find a wide range of subjects. You can find the whole story here. 1. A doable way to walk a Marathon. This reminds me of the time I was reading a long book (over 1000 pages) and my son, who was in third grade, came in and said he couldn’t understand how I could read a whole book that long. I told him it was no different than what he was reading. He was almost finished reading the last book of the Chronicles of Narnia. Little steps added together make a big impact.
