Originally a bazaar surrounding a central trading post, the small town of Angel Fire has been transformed into a military outpost. Soldiers and mercenaries drive along the dirt roads, which wind through the stalls that sell food and weapons. Many of the shacks and kiosks have been abandoned, their owners having fled or been jailed weeks ago. Prisoners are kept in cages that become hot in the sun and have no protection against the cold nights. Men, women, and children stare through the bars, their eyes showing despair and only a faint spark of hope.
