“The Eyes are the window to your soul”
… people have been trying to decode ever glitter, wrinkle, squint, and gaze that passes from those orbs. When I read a description that catches my attention, I copy it down, using it later to remind me there’s more to a character’s eyes than ‘she looked’ or ‘his blue eyes’.

Expressing characters’ use of their senses has a large role in my writing. Several years ago, I tore apart my first novel to find out how much sensory stuff I’d written about, beginning with the word “notice,” which I tend to use not only as a reference to sight, but also for other senses. Three of my blog posts on this topic are “Blinkered?” (https://wp.me/p30cCH-bv), “A Sight for Sore Eyes!” (https://wp.me/p30cCH-bI), and “The Eyes Have it!” (https://wp.me/p30cCH-bO).
