But let’s start at their beginning.

“I was assistant manager of a hotel and took David’s booking for 10 days starting on September 16th.  I commented to one of the receptionists that I loved his accent and that I thought I would marry him… joking!

About Smorgasbord - Variety is the Spice of Life.

My name is Sally Cronin and I am doing what I love.. Writing. Books, short stories, Haiku and blog posts. My previous jobs are only relevant in as much as they have gifted me with a wonderful filing cabinet of memories and experiences which are very useful when putting pen to paper. I move between non-fiction health books and posts and fairy stories, romance and humour. I love variety which is why I called my blog Smorgasbord Invitation and you will find a wide range of subjects. You can find the whole story here. Find out more at

  1. Sally this is such a lovely and well deserved tribute, acknowledging the fact you so tirelessly and selflessly devote yourself to promoting the work of other writers and showcasing the best talent in the community. Apart from the fact I count you among my closest friends, I also view you as a mentor and, in truth, a bit of a big sister who is looking out for me on my writer’s journey. I am absolutely sure I am not the only one to harbour such sentiments. Much love my dear friend and congratulations on this wonderful and warm recognition of all you do and all you are Paul xxx

    • Thank you Paul and for your lovely comment which I replied to on Cynthia’s site. I love that quote by John Donne 400 years ago ‘No man is an Island, entire of it self; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main.’ I tried for years to be fiercely independent and do it all myself.. but it is so stressful. This blog is a collaborative effort.. from your wonderful columns.. William’s Music, Carol’s food and Jessica’s literature… and everyone who comes through the door as a guest, as an author being promoted and those who read, like and share. You are an amazing writer and that is cause for celebration. I am one very lucky woman to be doing something I love and being part of this community… XXXX

I would be delighted to receive your feedback (by commenting, you agree to Wordpress collecting your name, email address and URL) Thanks Sally
