Welcome to Sherri Matthews and the second in her series of archive travel posts. Sherri includes wonderful photographs in her posts and so I will give you a taste and then a link to view on her own blog where I would appreciate you leaving your comments.
This week a beautiful village in Normandy with winding lanes, lovely places to eat and miraculous cures for eye disease from a clear water spring, and sanctuary in the small chapel.
Sanctuary in Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei by Sherri Matthews
There is a tiny village in Normandy called Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei that is so charming, it is known officially as a ‘Most Beautiful Village of France’. It was a privilige to spend my birthday afternoon there in September with my family ~
The River Sarthe flows through this village with pretty cottages nestled cosily on both sides of the riverbank ~
A short walk from the car park at the top of the village across the stone bridge brings you to the town square in minutes ~
Explore this stunning village with all its history and welcoming places to eat and to sit in sunshine: https://sherrimatthewsblog.com/2015/11/15/sanctuary-in-saint-ceneri-le-gerei/

My thanks to Sherri for sharing this beautiful, tranquil village, and if you would like to participate in this series.. here are the details:
Posts from Your Archives and the theme this time is all about travel.
The aim of this series is to showcase your blog and any creative work that you do from books, art, photography and crafts. You pick between one and four links to posts that you have written for your own blog since you began blogging up to October 2017 and you simply send the link to those blogs to sally.cronin@moyhill.com
You have to do nothing more as I will capture the post and images from your blog and I will then post with full copyright to you.. with your creative work and your links to buy and to connect. I might sometimes need a little more information but I am quite resourceful in finding out everything I need.
The deal is that you also help promote the post by sharing on your social media and responding to the comments.
Previous participants are more than welcome
The theme for the new series is travel.
- Places and countries you have visited,
- Different cultures,
- Exotic food you have discovered when travelling,

Glad you enjoyed it Olga, thank you so much! We fell in love with Normandy as a region, and this village is breathtakingly beautiful. My photos don’t do it justice as there were so many stunning vistas. No wonder artists gather there! Hope you get to go one day and see it for yourself 🙂

Hi Sally, so sorry I didn’t make it here yesterday. Getting ready for my family arriving today for the wedding tomorrow, then leaving for Italy…headless chicken comes to mind! So much to do before going away isn’t there? We need holidays to get over the before and the after, never mind the holiday inbetween 😉 Thank you again so much for sharing the second of my archive posts. I will be signing of WP after today, so won’t be able to get to next week’s until after I get back, but I will head back here as soon as I can. You’re a star Sally. Hope you’re keeping cool…I don’t need to go to Italy to find the sunshine as it turns out! See you soon, and thanks so much again! Hugs! ❤ xxx

Hi Sherri and Sally. Lovely post, another one that makes me long for an overseas holiday! I didn’t know you’d contributed to three anthologies Sherri. I knew about the carrot ranch one.

Hi Marje! Oh I hope you have a holiday soon ❤ Yes, I contributed to Slices of Life and Heart Whispers (memoir and poetry) a couple of years ago, my first book publications. The other one, Lady By The River, is unfortunately out of print, but I contributed a memoir essay to that one. Hopefully it will be available again soon. I have no idea how any of them are selling, much more promotion with the Carrot Ranch anthology, thanks to Charli! 🙂 ❤

Hi Sherri. No holiday for a while yet sadly Sherri as I am starting a new full-time job on Monday – receptionist at a private sixth form in Cambridge. Hope you are well and enjoying the sunshine and writing! I will be so busy from next week… so forgive me if I have less time to chat. I will have to try to catch up at weekends… xxx

Oh that’s wonderful, congratulations on your new job Marje, I really hope you enjoy it, you’ve done so well! No need to forgive anything, you will be busy indeed. Anytime to chat here and there with you is lovely. I feel the same way, and I don’t work full time, yet I seem to be always chasing my tail. Endless! Wishing you all the very best my friend, take care and big hugs 🙂 ❤

Thank you Sherri. It’s going okay I’m learning the ropes. Luckily I’ve started when it is quiet so that’s good. Hours are too long but the pay is quite good. Hope you are having a lovely summer. Marje xxx

Hi Marje, apologies for my late reply, just back from house/cat sitting and trying to get back to some kind of ‘normal’…. 😉 Oh I’m so glad you’ve got a quiet start, that helps. Glad the pay is good, hope the hours will fly by for you. Take care, my friend, keep us posted. This summer is another 1976! Must admit though, would love some rain, about now!! Keep cool, kid! (as my dear dad often told me 🙂 ) ❤ xxx

Such lovely and interesting photographs, Sally. The tributes to the recent terror attacks are very sad.
