Waste Not! Want Not! Week 20…Food Waste and Climate Change…

I will leave you with Carol Taylor’s post on waste this week which not only highlights the fact that globally there is an estimated 13 billion pounds worth of food thrown away, but all the innovative ways to keep food in community fridges to prevent spoiling in countries where individual cold storage is not possible. We can all do our bit, buy just what we need and donate food we don’t use.. Tesco now has a zero waste policy with food being donated to good causes. #recommended

  1. Great topic, ladies. Whenever I have wasted food, I feel like I’ve done something horribly wrong. And it’s difficult to avoid with the combination of cooking for one and being too tired and busy to cook. I get so annoyed with myself when I buy food and don’t use it, that I hardly ever buy fresh food any more (to cook that is). No, I know that isn’t good at all either. LOL.
Now that after 10 years of that DC dump I finally have a decent kitchen. I hope to start cooking again… after I do all the painting, weed pulling, and putting together of furniture.
    Huge hugs.
