Smorgasbord Poetry – Colleen Chesebro’s Weekly Tanka Challenge -Double #Etheree -Enchantment by Sally Cronin

This is my fun time of the week when I respond to Colleen’s Tuesday Poetry Challenge 138

The two prompt words this week were ‘Clear and Nature’ and I have selected the synonyms ‘Unclouded and Character’

Double Etheree – Enchantment  by Sally Cronin

Such
pretty
eyes and lips
that enchanted
he thought to himself
as the girl crossed the floor,
clothed in a gown of rare silk,
eggshell blue with a satin trim.
She appeared so sweet and innocent,
his mind was unclouded by suspicion.
The king, his father, warned him of this place
and that not all would be what it seemed,
and you could not judge character
by the beauty of a gown.
So was this princess real?
Or a magic trick?
He touched her hand
felt the spark
and was
lost.

  1. Sally that is beautiful and with a bit of mystery because the ending we didn’t know until we got to the end and that was so surprising and wonderful that he would not be tricked and that they were already connected in a very special way .
