Delighted to share the news of the release of Cape Menace: A Cape May Historical Mystery (Cape May Historical Mystery Collection Book 1) by USA Today Bestselling author Amy M. Reade on pre-order for June 2nd.
About the book
The year is 1714. Two years have passed since Ruth Hanover vanished into the wilderness of the New Jersey colony without a trace, leaving behind her husband, William, and their daughter, Sarah. Though William and Sarah have never stopped hoping that Ruth will return, as time goes by it becomes less and less likely they will ever see her again.
Now William is acting strangely. He won’t tell Sarah why he’s conducting business with a mysterious stranger in the middle of the night, he won’t explain the sudden increase in his income, and he won’t share with her what people in town are
saying about her mother’s disappearance.
When the time comes for Sarah to face her father’s secrets and figure out why her mother never came home that December day in 1712, what she learns will shock her tiny community on the New Jersey cape and leave her fighting for her life.

One of the recent reviews for Be My Valencrime
“Be My Valencrime” by Amy M. Reade kept me entertained while staying home during the pandemic.
Lilly owns a jewelry store and has one employee, Harry. This mystery begins on Valentine’s Day when Harry is going to propose to the love of his life, Alice. The problem is that Alice has disappeared.
Lilly, who loves a challenge, is determined to find Alice, regardless of warnings from the police to stay out of the situation. Unfortunately, Alice has a secret that complicates matters and leads Lilly to places she’d rather avoid.
Ignoring the police warnings, she attempts to garner information from acquaintances of Alice’s and in the process puts her own life on the line. In the meantime she has to deal with her daughter and some teenage issues. Adding to everything else, her mother, who’s in the beginning stages of dementia, wanders off. Issues are coming at her from every direction.
In addition to a good mystery, I appreciate the way Ms. Reade deals with her mother’s mental issues and her daughter’s dilemma. I highly recommend this story to people who enjoy mystery and character-driven stories.
