I probably like “Franky the Flamingo” so much because I used to live in Florida for 16 yrs and I still miss those days. In this book Franky ventures out and tries to make bird friends wherever he goes. Of course, they ( storks, cranes, geese, ducks, finches, sparrows, etc) are all different but they share a common interest for playing. One day, Franky encounters an angry bird who said hurtful things to a tiny bird. Franky knows what to do and helps.

Of course, this is a story that presents the topic of bullying in a new “bird light.” My little grandson who is not in school yet is still too young to know anything about bullying but he enjoyed the descriptions of the different birds and what they do.

Highly recommend to help younger readers learn about bird as well as use the story as a conversation starter to talk about bullying.
