Halloween has always fascinated me…not the commercial side but the tales…now of course the inventiveness of cooks around the world just amazes me …awesome.

I have for you a lovely Thai style pumpkin soup and some tales of Halloween…Trick or treating is something I wasn’t allowed to do as a child…this year maybe many kids won’t be allowed either because of Covid restrictions but you can make it fun for them indoors and around your garden so get creative and please show us on here…

  1. I loved Hallowe’en when I was a child. It was different then – no witches or spiders involved. The old customs went to America with the Celtic emigrants and came back refurbished! I love the witches – I think I’d make a good one, complete with broomstick. According to Celtic custom the celebration of “Samhain” involved making room for the spirits of the dead who would come back for this one night. Food and drink were left out for them. And if a girl looked in the mirror at midnight she would see the shadow of her future husband – I think someone made that one up!
