Smorgasbord Blog Magazine – Weekly Round-Up – February 7th – 13th 2021 – Primroses, Hits 1960s, Short stories, poetry, recipes, books and funnies

Welcome to the round up of posts you might have missed on Smorgasbord during the week.

It has been bitterly cold here for the last few days but thankfully the threatened snow seems to have changed its mind. Considering how wet we normally are, we seem to have hit a dry patch which is fine by us.

A little bright spot in the week has been the primroses that I transplanted from the pots at the beginning of summer as they began to wilt into some rough soil around some bushes.. I put some soil in a hole and plonked them in to see if they would perky up. And they have thrived and flowered ever since through rain, snow, hail for the last nine months. How’s that for tenacity and just goes to show that even the best of us, when a little frayed and wilted, can rejuvenate if put in some fertile environment and left to our own devices. Most of the top soil has all washed away after the large deluge of rain last week but will add some more and might add a few more primroses to join them once the garden centre opens in March…They have certainly cheered me up every time I looked out of the office window over the last few months.

Apart from that, not a great deal of report but as always very grateful for your visits and shares on social media. And to William Price King and to Debby Gies who have as always given the time and creativity to providing us with great music and laughter.

  1. Thanks for the mention, and for another wonderful week of entertainment here Sal. And look at you and your tenacious primroses! 🙂 Well, I know you’ve had more snow than we have here in the city, but I wonder where it’s colder, here or there, lol. I nearly froze my toes off spending 5 minutes in the parking level, doing my new garbage duty for recycling. I was wearing flip flops LOL. ❤ xx

  2. Terrific week! It seems like it is cold and raining or snowing all over these days. I got to Zoom with my three brothers today (we’re in four different time zones), and everywhere was cold and wet/snowy.
