This week a new format for me in response to Colleen Chesebro’s #Tanka Tuesday Challenge 213 – Photoprompt #ekphrastic
This challenge explores Ekphrastic writing inspired by visual art (photographs). The theme offers us a chance to explore the psychology of colours – I have chosen a Badger Hexastich
Badger Hexastitch One – Beacon
Shining
like a beacon
the vibrant canopy
anchors her to the cliff
safe above the
torrent.
Badger Hexastitch Two – Umbrella
Twirling
bright umbrella
defies monochrome hues
with a splash of colour
softening their
harshness.

You excel at writing in constrained forms and yet still managing to convey meaning and emotion in a seemingly natural way. I had to look up Badger Hexastitch… xx

Those short syllables are a bit hard to navigate, but your poetry just flows. ❤

Great work. I wish i sometimes will be possible memorizing some metrics. 😉 This also was my greatest problem with old Latin and Greek poetry.I am said to have an ancestor who visited China 100 years ago, and, as a sinologist, translated poems by the Chinese emperors.
