This week in Colleen Chesebro’s #Tanka Tuesday Challenge 219 – we are asked to respond with a specific form
The choice was Haiku or Senryu and although the form is similar the theme is different.. I have chosen a Senryu Series… and thought I would challenge the establishment!
As per Colleen’s cheat sheet..SENRYU IN ENGLISH: Traditional 5/7/5, Current 3/5/3, and Current 2/3/2syllable structure. A Senryu is written about love, humor, a personal event, and should have irony present.
Although there is usually no title.. I have called the series – Scepticism
Politics
where truth is scattered
on the wind.
Media
mines dirt from fake news
to mislead
Agendas
wth facts spun to fit
planned outcomes
Climate change
based on flawed research
creates wealth
Our money
works to pay banker’s
bonuses
Pinch of salt
needed to prevent
brain washing
To challenge
is to be labelled
a nut case.

Our skepticism is so well earned, unfortunately. If only people would heed your cautionary note, so aptly put:
Pinch of salt
needed to prevent
brain washing

Your last lines summed it all up. While it used to be okay to have differing opinions, now the easier solution is to call somebody names. So tragic.

I am afraid so Pete.. we have moved from learning from free speech to fearing and banning it.. it does not bode well for the future. xx
