One of the excellent reviews for Reign of Retribution (The Eternal Realm Book 3)
I thoroughly enjoyed Fiona Tarr’s latest book, propelled by the theme of love and the sacrifices we are sometimes asked to make for true love. As Princess Sheba struggles to find her way in the brutal world of Old Testament times, warring kingdoms and religious conflicts, she is thrown into a battle of good and evil, zealots, idolators, opposing dieties, arch angels and believers of the one true God. Many facets of love are explored – love of family and the loyalty that comes with it, love of carnal pleasures and selfish pursuits, love of God, misguided love, and the romantic pull of true love. The characters are either noble, endearing and admirable, or cruel, twisted and hateful, and both will hold your attention to the end. The goal is to preserve the line of David, from which the Redeemer will come to save mankind. With the stakes so high, yet seemingly impossible, you will read with tears in your eyes, even for believers who know the final outcome firsthand. Thought-provoking and highly recommended.
About Fiona Tarr
Fiona would be the first to admit a fascination with religion and the impact it has on culture, both historically and today. Her first two complete series are full of elements of mythology and theology set in various historical time periods. They are character driven stories with all the elements of the classic heroic/epic fantasy genre.
Fiona lives in Noosa, Australia with her husband and two adult sons, where she runs a small family business involving tourism and watersports.
When she is not writing, you will likely find her kitesurfing, stand up paddle surfing, travelling or volunteering in some capacity.
Fiona is the great niece of Australian literary author George Johnston, who is best known for his book My Brother Jack which was made into a mini series with the ABC. Although Fiona’s writing style is unlike her Uncle George’s literary form, she writes a compelling, contemporary fantasy novel.
Fiona’s focus on faith, philosophy and sociology continues to be the topic of her current series; a young adult fantasy that crosses into sci-fi with magical time travel.
Thanks very much for dropping in and it would be great if you could spread the news of Fiona’s latest book… thanks Sally.
