Now something from Sally

Amazing what a nip of whisky will do!

A fisherman was telling his friends about his latest day at the river. ‘I ran short of bait,’he said, ‘but when I looked down there was a small snake with a frog in his mouth. I removed the frog and cut up for bait. Feeling sorry for taking the snake’s lunch, I took out my hip flask and poured a wee dram into the snake’s mouth and off he slid.’ The fisherman took a long drink of his beer.

‘About half an hour later, I felt something touch my leg and I looked down to see the same snake with three more frogs!’

And a boy after my own heart…

A small boy was taken to see an  exhibition of abstract art at the city art gallery. His mother pointed to a particularly large and colourful painting and said ‘That is supposed to be a man on a horse.’ And the little boy said, Well, why isn’t it?’

Thanks for dropping in and we hope you are leaving with a smile on your face… Debby and Sally.

  2. I was waiting to see where the grocery store one was heading, and the punch line was worth it 🙂

I also liked the Noah’s ark one – at least they didn’t have to wear masks…

    and that snake learned fast…

and I am in agreement with that little boy!

  3. Loved the supermarket one and the one with the burglar had a great punchline! I’m afraid I shall have the small boy’s words ringing in my head when next I see something that promises to be great art. Many thanks to both of you! xx

  4. Debby, your first one is really funny. I don’t think I’d be buying toilet paper there, either. But it would have helped with the shortage at the beginning of the pandemic.
Sally, I can relate to the little boy in the modern art gallery. I’m a bit of a dinosaur as far as the arts are concerned. Paintings, music, poetry, are not what they were.
