A small selection of posts I have enjoyed this week and I hope you will head over to enjoy in full.. thanks Sally.
Pete Springer shares a post this week that highlights the horrendous statistic that there are an estimated 500,000 homeless children in the USA. There is an organisation called ‘School on Wheels’ that is making a huge difference to these children in California by offering tutoring and support from teachers, but it makes for difficult reading to know that these children and their families are in this tragic and rapidly escalating situation. A must read especially as this is not isolated to the US but to many Western countries. A wonderful video shows what a difference this kind of support can make.

Jacquie Biggar shares her June book reviews including those for D.L. Finn, Rebecca Zanetti, Janet Gover , Catherine Ryan Hyde and Jacqui Murray. They all look great.

If you have not come across Jackie Lambert’s blog before you are in for a treat. Especially if you love dogs and travel too. Jackie and her husband and four canine family members live on the road travelling around Europe. My review for her first caravanning adventure is on Saturday but in the meantime here is a post in their most recent home on wheels under the Tuscan sun.

Rebecca Budd and her mother Frances and sister Sarah come together for 15 minutes that is a fascinating insight into how we feel at the age we are. I loved all their thoughts on the question and Frances at 91 is amazing and I agree entirely with her wise words.. Keep learning and being engaged and be grateful for good health and those around you.. Do go over and listen and enjoy. Time well spent to put your own life into perspective whatever age you might be.

Judith Barrow is the guest of Patricia Osborne, sharing her unusual intro to writing fiction (I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall) and her academic excellence which has led to her lecturing in creative writing. An entertaining post.

Thank you for sharing my post and the others of these fine bloggers/writers. I’m going to assume homelessness is getting worse everywhere across the globe. How can we let this continue to happen without trying to help? Programs like School on Wheels show that ordinary people can help by making a small commitment of one’s time.

A terrific and important post Pete and yes the world is seeing far more homelessness with conflict and economic and political refugees trying to find a safe place in the world. As you say ordinary people make a huge difference often more so than our governments..xx

Indeed, much like my original Playbus. (The real bus. It certainly captured my heart.
One of my bus books written but not yet completed , was about a bus helping the homeless. Not developed further as maybe the storyline was a little older than the 4v- 8 audience i currently write for. Then again maybe an older set of stories to come?))
