The body does not react well to stress when it is chronic.. in other words all the time…. For the millions who have indulged over the Christmas period… there now begins another cycle of stress as the New Year Diet kicks in.
Usually boredom and hunger win over willpower around the sixth week, and then the cycle repeats itself.. feast and famine, feast and famine. After a few cycles the body decides to store during the binges and hang onto the fat during the famine.. which is why most crash diets do not work as it is unhealthy.
It may be old fashioned to suggest that eating any freshly prepared foods across all the food groups combined with moderate exercise might be better for the body. But I am old fashioned. So is the body which has evolved since the dawn of man eating whatever it could get its hand on including meat, fish, plants and grain.
I first devised my programme back in 1996 and since then have worked with over 1000 clients in the UK and Ireland using more or less the same formula with some additions along the way as I learned more and more about the body and food.
In my programme I don’t tell you what to eat or when but I do offer you an abundance of food to eat that is fresh and natural. What I do not recommend is industrially produced food that comes in a packet including diet shakes and bars.
