Smorgasbord Book Promotions – New Book on the Shelves – #GayRomance – Straight As A Jalebi : Book 2 in The Rishtay Series by Ritu Bhathal

Delighted to share the news of the latest release by Ritu Bhathal – Straight As A Jalebi : Book 2 in The Rishtay Series – I can highly recommend book one in the series

About the book

This is a delightful male-male sweet romance. Sunny is just adorable and Milan is the perfect guy for him! I raced through this book in one highly enjoyable weekend. –Bestselling author Jeevani Charika

Who knew that an innocent trip to India in the year 2000 would have such an impact on his life?

Sunny had only gone as a chaperone for his sister and her best friend and to attend to a few business matters.

He’d ended up with a deal that would change the shape of his professional future and possibly his personal one too.

Battling the pressures of marriage by his family isn’t Sunny’s only fight, as he finds his feelings for a certain ‘friend’ may be more than just friendship.

But how can he tell anyone how he truly feels?
Because the road to love isn’t always straight…

Ritu Bhathal is a fresh, new, and much-needed voice for British Asian fiction.

Straight As a Jalebi is Book 2 in the Rishtay Series, following the Gill family in the new millennium.

One of the early reviews for the book

Sue Baker 5.0 out of 5 stars Splendid story  Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 31 May 2023

I had the good fortune to be able to jump straight into this marvellous book after reading Marriage Unarranged at the weekend, and once again I was addicted to the fascinating story told by this brilliant author.

Sunny is a character that I truly took to my heart, his loyalty to his family is outstanding, I was really rooting for him, his happiness was what I most wanted to see.

Milan is another character who I enjoyed spending time with, his enthusiasm for life is so uplifting and you could really understand why Sunny was so captivated by him.

Lots of tension throughout the story kept me turning the pages, and it was lovely to meet up with the characters from the earlier book.

It was interesting to follow the wedding preparations too, and to travel once more to India and explore the different cultures and traditions there.

Loved this awesome book and am already excited for book three!
